Another fantastic Spring Day for golf and a great field boosted by the participation of a contingent of guests from the Nambour Golf Club whose presence was greatly appreciated. However, Darryl Harbottle earned the handicapper’s attention again by posting an impressive score of 45 points – 3 clear of our runner-up John Oxenahm with Mike Kapper a shot back on 41 points in third place on a countback from Glenn Adams. Another stern test of golf off the Blue markers, but the weather was perfect and the field of more than 30 took full advantage. Congratulations go to Paul Viertel who won the B Grade Medal and best net of the day honours of the day with a 66 after a countback which denied runner up David Killeen (also with a 66) the hounours. Greg Childe-Freeman won the A Grade Medal after carding a net 67 while David Flowers was runner up with 70 on a countback from Richard Clayton. Nearest the Pins went to Peter Gilbert and Rob Bailo. Our regular Wednesday morning Ladies Competition got another big boost this week courtesy of Tracey Liddlelow who organised a group of 9 visitors from Caloundra Golf Club to join our regulars for an 18-hole 4BBB Stableford. There was a light shower or two but nothing to dampen everyone’s spirits too much! Congratulations to our winners, Margaret Goodger and Barbara Saville who posted 39 points with the two Alisons, Behncken and Cook, the runners up on 37 points.
