Tuesday 2nd May 2017 – Cooroy Vets 18 Holes Single Stableford Medley

Maleny Golf Club hosted a visit by 20 members of the Cooroy Golf Club who joined our regular Tuesday Competition.

However, our very own Mal Ewing (pictured above on right being congratulated by Tom Bertwistle) was in form and on fire with the flat stick posting an unassailable score of 48 points – 9 clear of runner-up Dennis Hickey (39) – also pictured with Tom.

Greg Michael was the best of the visitors a point back on 38.

Aileen Morton from Cooroy was the best placed of the ladies with 32 points. The ladies pin on the 12th went to Christine Michael.

Men’s pins went to Brian Stephen on the 3rd and Don Clelland on the 5th.

Saturday 29th April 2017 – 18 Holes Stroke TFM Men’s Monthly Medal

It’s always a stern test of golf off the blue markers and Troy Edwards from Kilcoy GC fired a net 68 to card the best A Grade round to win the Prize Voucher but not medal which went to runner-up Blake Wellington with a net 70 on a count back from Garth Bailo.

Paul Viertel had a very good day winning the B Grade medal with a net 69 as well as Richard Clayton’s Birdie Bag for his effort on the 15th. Runner up was Rex Clark with a net 71 on a countback from Chris Pottinger.

The C Grade meda went to Mark Green with a net 70 on a count back from Mike Burgis with Jon Fairman third on 72.

Tuesday 25th April 2017 – 18 Holes Single Stableford Medley

The weather was perfect for golf and Chook Run organiser Rod Waldron proved too good on the day by carding a winning score of 41 points – shutting out our Runner Up Denis O’Neill on a count back. The ever consistent Mike Finley came Third with 38 points. Toni Bishop was the best placed lady with 32 points – 2 clear of nearest rival Liz Mellish. Saturday 22nd April 2017 – 18 Holes Single Stableford

Rain threatened unsuccessfully to wash out the competition and Mike Finley proved to be (only just) the most accomplished wet weather golfer on the day. He carded a score of 37 points to beat Richard Clayton on a count back with Mal Ewing in third on 33 points.
