Sunshine Coast Cross Country Day at Maleny Golf Club

Saturday 19th May 2013 saw the initial Sunshine Coast Cross Country Series event at Maleny.

The day dawned fine and sunny, though there was a lazy southerly wind making its presence felt.  The Little A’s food stall did a roaring trade selling egg & bacon rolls and sausages in blankets, and the coffee stall had a permanent queue.

The runners seemed to enjoy the course, though the finishing hill and running on soft kikuyu grass presented new challenges. The supporters enjoyed being able to see the runners over most of the course. We look forward to hosting the Cross Country Series again.

Great to see the multi-use concept being acted upon.
It is a much better course than the original one for State Primary School “kids” run at Brookfield with only Brookfield and Fig Tree Pocket schools participating. Children were in danger of being lost.

    Positive progress is wonderful.
