The greens were renovated earlier in the week but their playability bears testament to the skill and dedication of our Super Mick McCombe and his team! Congratulations to Jan Johnston who adjusted to the putting pace most adeptly to win with a net score 64, one shot clear of Peter Gilbert who was our runner up with net 65 on a countback from Tom Bertwistle.
Tom maintained form after striking a purple patch earlier in the week at Woodford when he partnered with Chris Pottage for the Breast Cancer Charity 4BBB Stableford which they won with an incredible 54 points! We had almost 40 players compete in our 2 Ball Ambrose event today which was won by Jan Johnston and our illustrious Super Mick McCombe with a net score of 61.75. Great scoring guys!
Visiting father and daughter team Shaun O’Hara and Jasmine O’Hara were the runners up just 1.25 behind with a net 63 and father and son team Rob and Garth Bailo came in third with 64.25.The highlight of the day though goes to Liz Mellish who aced the 3rd with an historic Hole-in-One to claim Nearest the Pin and the Eagles Nest. Jan Johnston (12th), Alison Behncken (5th) and Mike Finley (14th) also won Nearest the Pins. Continue reading
Another cracking day for golf and congratulations go to Greg Childe-Freeman who backed up after last week’s medal effort with a score of 41 points – 3 clear of runner up Tom Bertwistle with 38 points on a countback from Noah Childe-Freeman. Greg also got the pin on the 14th while Alison Behncken got it on the 3rd and husband Geoff claimed the honours on the 5th. Thanks also to the crew from Dalby, Kilcoy and Bulimba golf clubs made the effort to drive up to Maleny to play in our competition – great stuff guys! Continue reading
Congratulations go to Liz Mellish who fired a net 73 to win the MPR glassware this month on a countback from our illustrious Captain Robin Hay. Penny Edwards earned the Bronze with a net 75 and also picked up NTP honours on the 5/14th while Margaret Goodger got the NTP on the 3/12th. Continue reading
Another fantastic Spring Day for golf and a great field boosted by the participation of a contingent of guests from the Nambour Golf Club whose presence was greatly appreciated. However, Darryl Harbottle earned the handicapper’s attention again by posting an impressive score of 45 points – 3 clear of our runner-up John Oxenahm with Mike Kapper a shot back on 41 points in third place on a countback from Glenn Adams.
