Maleny Golf Club’s New Logo
Launch of our new Maleny Golf Club logo
Over the years the Maleny Golf Club has used a couple of designs as de facto logos. While these in-house efforts have served us well for the last 14 years, the Club’s Committee recently decided that as we are about to open our new golf course, the time was right to choose a new logo, to reflect our unique features, to serve us well into the future.
We sought advice from Edwina Kelly, a professional graphic designer. It has proved to be a wise decision. Edwina provided us with several options and points to consider that make for a successful logo, with advice on what works and what doesn’t. The agreed final design is now on each web page and details are presented below in a brief report from Edwina, which includes the application of the logo to a range of situations. In Edwina’s words “this logo provides a modern take on the hills of Maleny, in the shape of an ‘M’. It subtly hints at golf, as the graphic element is made up of 18 smaller shapes.” While the curved shape through the middle represents the Obi Obi Creek, some may feel it also depicts our new concrete path between the 2nd and 3rd holes!
We really like the fresh modern look of this design, and hope you do too. If you need a logo or some other graphic design work, Edwina would love to hear from you. Her details are Edwina Kelly Graphic Design, and she can be contacted at design@edwinakelly.com.au .
